I just got this flashlight at the gun show today. It cost me about $63. It might have been $10-$5 less than what you can get shipped on the internet, but I have it today, and not in a week. I got some batteries for it. MAN, it's bright. This is my first 'tactical' high output flashlight. I really like it-It's on my belt right now-and I look to getting more fenix flashlights.

It uses AA batteries which you can get at a gas station. It says it's max lumen output is 135 lumens. Comes with a nice nylon/some other plastic material. It was this, or the SF g2, but this has a higher output, and it's metal. I got the black one. I have not used this outside, but in a bathroom with the light on.

It's button is located on the tail cap. It has strobe, SOS, high 135 lumen out put, then some lower outputs (don't know the lumen output of those).

I wouldn't change a thing about it. A+ to Fenix. This is my first review of any kind, so I hope you found this helpful.

Smooth reflector or textured?

I love mine. It goes with me everywhere; I even made up some kydex for it. They're pretty tough, too. Mine had been dropped, tossed, rolled, scraped, bungled and blundered. It has a few character dings, but it still works as well as ever.

If your light starts to go a little wonky on you (blinky or unreliable function,) it's probably because the contacts need to cleaned. I use an old toothbrush on mine.

Also, if you look inside the tailcap, you'll see a couple of little divots. These allow you to unscrew the inside of the cap and access the guts, so that you can install new switches, switch covers, and clean out the lint.

Smooth or texured? What is the reflector?

The shiny silver part that the LED sits in. Some are smooth like a mirror, others have an orange-peel texture to soften the transition between the spot and the flood of the beam.

Textured throws a prettier beam, smooth throws a less perfect beam a little bit farther.

That's I figured. Mine is textured. Perfect for what I need a light for. My light switch is on the other side of my room so I walk into a pitch black room sometimes. In October I went hunting and I was using a very crappy light. This is perfect. Strobe and SOS are good safety features imo too.

I think Fenix offer great value for money, the textured reflector breaks up dark rings and artifacts found in some LEDs such as Cree, while a smooth reflector seems to give more thow.Try the lod Q4-a tiny flashlight that Fenix produce that puts out 75 lumens and runs off a AAA battery.

I was at TAD Gear a few weels back and bagged the Limitied Edition Fenix LD01 in stainless steel, rated 80 lumens on high. This has to be the slickest little and potent AAA light around. I also have a P1D CEQ5 that Fenix rates on high at 185 lumens. Yup, these Fenix lights are slick. I'll still go to my Surefire E1b in an emergency (has longer throw), but by far Fenix puts out top notch lights at a great price! Now if they would only do these two in clickie!

Matador-
