Fenix LD20 question

I've had a Fenix LD20 for several months, really love this light. I've been through about 4 sets of AA's and have noticed each time that as the batteries wear out the Turbo setting will come on with full brightness and then within maybe a second or so will dim to either the 94 lumen or 47 lumen setting. Soon after the 94 lumen setting will do the same and drop to a lower setting. Is this normal?

Any light with constant current regulation will perform a similar action. IIRC your light should flicker when the battery gets low.
