I would like to try out a small fenix light ,are they any ones to avoid?
My surefire G2 has crapped out on me 2 times and im ready to move on.

First, what happened to the G2? I own a few and other than a bulb or 2 breaking they are great, upgraded to LED bezels and now I have no worries other than 1 high output. As for Fenix... my EDC is a PD20. Great light and gets used almost daily. When hiking or during international travel I use my Jetbeam RRT0 since it uses both CR123 or AAs. More flexibility it key in my eyes. More so with a solar AA charger. Fenix lights are great for the price, only disadvantage I can see in them is that most "stress most" models will change outputs when cycled off and back on quickly. For LEO work this may affect you. Other than that, they are great.

Part of the collection. REALLY want to add a Olight SR90 for my first high power light, but debating the cost per use right now....

Left to right bottom row... TA21, Surefire Kroma milspec, E2D with TNV bezel, G2Z with mak bezel, LD20, Jetbeam RRT0, LD10, PD20, LD01 please note, 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, are fenix lights, as is the TK 40 above (the black one).

Fenix lights a great lights and you can't go wrong with any of them. Im really surprised your G2 crapped out on you btw.

What is it doing or not doing? Did you send it back to surefire? I was always under the impression that surefire had an outstanding warrenty.

My G2 is on its 3rd bulb and i havent used it very much at all,i just dont trust it anymore and im tired of buying bulbs too.Are the fenix a dependable light?

Fenix provide a good product at reasonable price, you also can a have a model that runs on AA batteries including NiMh rechargeables-something that a premium maker like surefire does not provide (please don't get into the Surefire v Fenix tirade).I have carried a AAA model on my keys for 2 years with no problems and regard them dependable and good value for money. You will also benefit from a Cree led which are good for 50,000 hours-check out some reviews on Youtube.

I ended up ordering these two lights ,hope they last longer than the S/F G2.
Fenix TK10
Fenix LD10

LD10, great choice... a nice balance of power, size and features. You won't regret it.

Check out ebay for a drop in led module for your G2. If you can handle the 2 week shipping time from Hong Kong a 5 mode LED for roughly $20 is worth the wait.
