Fenix PD20 and PD30 series: lanyard and case annoyances

I'm posting this rather than going back and finding a thread to necro. I've been carrying a PD20 for a while now, and a PD30 that replaced my P3D.

I don't know if I'm the only one who had this problem, but the lanyard holes proved really efficient at sawing through the provided lanyard, on bot the P3D and the newer models.

I recently figured out a simple and secure fix for this: The new slotted lanyard holes are the perfect size and shape for a piece of flattened and gutted Paracord, instead of the thread-thin electronics type lanyard.

Unfortunately, I also had an issue with the case on my PD20. The velcro over-belt closure started to disintegrate and pull apart.

Just a heads-up to fellow Fenix users. I still love the flashlights, I'm just carrying the PD20 in pocket on a lanyard instead of in the belt case.

I placed a small stainless steel split ring though the lanyard hole in the tail of the Leatherman LGX200 (aka Fenix L1T v2), then threaded 550 paracord through the split ring.

The split ring won't fray or cut the paracord.

You can buy small split rings in the fishing section of larger sporting goods stores.

Enderwiggin, how do you use the lanyard with your P2D? Do you put the light in your pocket and keep the lanyard sticking out of your pocket?
