Ferric chloride & marble

I found out the hard way that Ferric chloride and finished marble surfaces do not mix.

I leaked some acid on a large marble surface that I use for finish sanding.

It ate into it in no time flat. Learn as you go, Fred

Yep!!! It proves it that you lost a few????? Nah!!! A whole lot.:confused: :eek: Of marbles.:jerkit: :p ;)
 
Marble is nothing more than limestone [calcium carbonate]. As a kitchen counter material it is porous .So when you spill wine on it it will stain because it's porous and will etch from the acids in the wine !!
 
they had a thing on Marble on the tube back a while ago
in layman terms Marble is fossilized fish bone,,
marble is found in dried up water pockets that fish collected in and died in many many moons ago...a lot of fish :eek:
