Hi Muzzleup,

You must have some serious problems lighting a fire

Best would be to contact one of the companies making/selling Ferrocium rods perhaps they know a manufacturers address.

I never needed one ( a firesteel

)bigger then 3" it's quality not quantity

Sorry Muzzleup, I thought you could be needing some humour after waiting for your new President for to long a time now.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

BAGHERRA:

I have found a source of the rods from Doan Machinery & Equipment Co. who makes the Magnesium Fire starting tool...the one with the rectangular bar and the flint on the top. They will be sending me 10 of their precut rods.

. about haveing problems starting a fire...LOL. I want to make my own form of strikers since I have to carboard boxes of magnesium chip from a machine shop and am making my own tinder...fill an envelope with mag. chips and then cover with bee's wax or parrafin, then cut into strips. Light with the sparking tool using a cotton ball....= HOT FIRE!
This election going on is a bunch of BS (Bovine excrement)! If a person cannot follow a simple arrow to where the punch hole is then maybe they should not be voting anway....Gorskivitch is not my favorite person nor is Clintonista!
Can I move in with you? or do you already have a grandfather???

By the way, I made it to Life Scout when I was younger. I am very happy that the Boy Scouts of America are keeping their stand about not haveing homosexuals in the scouts!!! Can't stand the idea of a troop being called the "dong lickers"
Regards

Muzzleup,
I'd like to see you take a lenght of one of the rods 4-5" and put it on one of the survival type knife handles from Texas Knife Makers Supply. this would be a perfect place to put tinder and say a P-38. Then you're set. the handles all ready have a compass so that helps you with your redundancy that all of us paranoid freaks (why else carry more than one knife) firmly believe in. Anyway just a thought.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

Mykl, first I will have to find out something about Texas Knife Makers Supply. Do you have any model # for some specific piece from them.
In the meantime I will try and find their web page if they have one. I have 3" long flints coming sometime next week.
