Not sure if anyone follows them on social media but yesterday they teased this picture of knife on their instagram page. They announced they would produce cheaper "pro-line" knives like the Fortis 2.0. Thoughts?

s35vn for a more budget friendly line? Count me interested...
would love to know the pricing when it's announced, and materials - I hope they don't do something silly and offer aluminum handles only

FF made by WE or FF?

I would never buy another FF period, but if I did, it would be a WE.

I'm guessing this is an evolution of the work they have been doing with Massdrop, probably saw how profitable it was and decided to do it themselves.

I too am curious as to why a few members would not buy them.

I bought one of their$600 mid-techs. The lock bar literally fell off. I sent it back. It lost it's spring tension and stopped locking up. I sent it back. Third time, it failed to lock up on a flip, bounced off the stop pin and swung back shut on my finger tip cutting nearly to the bone. This time I sent it back and told them to keep it.

Additionally the pivot system was unacceptable. Free spinning, not tool on one side and red Loctited shut.

Wow thats not good... and dangerous. Did they give you your money back?

Looking at the pivot screw(which is identical to their Massdrop collab), and the way the blade is chamfered, the milling pattern on the handle, i'm almost certain that this is made by WE knife. If so, the price should(or supposed to be) aligned with the Massdrop prices. Otherwise it'll be a rip off.

Yes, they were receptive and tried to make it right each time, fully refunding me plus a bit for all the shipping I had to pay. They aren't bad guys and they made it right in the end which is why I don't blast them regularly, but it was the single worst knife I've ever owned at any price range and they couldn't seem to fix it.

Yes from what I hear the WE manufactured knives are pretty great for the price. I don't own one yet but I'm in for one of the Massdrop collab knives releasing at the end of August. I liked the falcon that they released. The Fortis 2.0 is supposed to be a bigger version of that.

I'll probably hold off on these until i see reviews.

Holy moley that's not good, I'm glad they wanted to keep trying to fix it and then refunded you when you asked.

The we knives were a huge disappointment. Others liked them but I was like no way, I own so many better knives at those prices it's not even funny..plus the designs were pretty flawed. Not to mention the poor attitude they had to make a public apology for. Free spinning pivots and crappy detent on mine were the final straw. Plus the designs of ffkw overall are ugly.

You do you, but I don't understand the fad / hype here.

I didn't realize so many others has poor experiences too. Do you have a link to the apology?

Have you seen the upcoming FF massdrop Buc?

I have EDC'd their mid-techs for years with no problems whatsoever. Great products! Looks like the budget friendly line is made by WE though. They also make good blades. The Fortis is my favorite EDC out of all my EDC blades, curious what the 2.0 will be like.
