I have a few Al Mar knives that I have never really been able to find much if any info on. If anyone could shed some light on the subject I would be in debt as right now it seems only Al Mar knew. I apologize, the pictures aren't very good.

I was wanting to know when and how many were made of the White Engraved Havana Clipper, Micro-Sere#3000a 1 of 200, 1 of 200 lockback with titanwood ? handles, and the Sidekick w/ stone Micarta handles as we;; if you could help me out RyAnne. I'm holding them for my daughter until she is old enough, along with a few more of mine. Thanks!

As a Mar fan with 3 Mar's of my own and having dealt with them on a repair/warranty basis that took nearly 5 months for their turn around time on it I can tell you I have spent a lot of time on the phone with them and emailing them. Al Mar president Gary Fadden himself handled my repair claim and it was him I was actually corresponding with via email to my surprise. Anyways...Al Mar knives is a company made up of FOUR stateside employees plus Fadden makes FIVE people make up the entire company. Moki Japan actually make the knives under contract. When it comes to production numbers on ANY Al Mar knife you've gotta remember that there are only FIVE people in Tualatin to handle the shipments of new product coming back from Moki. Only the most popular folders run production numbers as high as a few thousand per production year. They just don't have the staff to deal with more. Luckily for them the SERE models and just about all their traditional based folding designs like the Eagle, Falcon etc. sell as fast as they can make them. Wiki says the company grosses only a half million dollars a year which I think is BS you gotta remember that Moki themselves make their own versions of the Mar traditional designs and sell quite a bit of them overseas under license from Mar. Mar easily makes a 7 figure amount per year. The models which are hard to track down production dates are usually the ones that only were made for 1-3 production years or less thus finding info is pretty damn hard unless you actually pick up the phone and call them. They are very nice and professional people and would actually answer your question best they can. Hope this helps. And if its ongoing correspondence with Mar on any issue just remember that there is only ONE person answering the phones (the secretary) and I believe it is the secretary and Fadden himself that handle email. So going a week or two without hearing anything is likely.
