Spent 3 days 2 nights out at the camp getting it ready for the upcoming season.I wired the old shack for electricity ,power supplied by a small generator, needed to get a lightbulb out to the outhouse.A light out there will make my wifes life much less complicated lol
Also had around 30 metres of trail to finish and the chimney to repair hence the need for the ladder as you will see
2 larger spruce trees had blown over near the cabin and I wanted to cut them up and finally get ahead on the firewood -Do you ever.
Getting the quads loaded to head out
You will have to forgive me on the quality of the focus on some of these pictures,Hank loading equipment

I had help from 2 good friends. We managed to get quite a lot of work done.Food was great weather not too bad.Evenings where spent elk hunting. No luck there which is OK because thats just more work if you get one and we had had enough
Cooked most meals over the fire

I usually start trapping around 15 November, season opens Oct 15.I have some wolf gear this year and will give them a try
Its work alright I try and make it like Tom Sawyer and get help lol.I do appreciate the help from my friends
Ladder was used to fix the stovepipe. The one I have out there doesnt have enough rungs on it for that chore

Man, I'm tired and thinking about how lazy I am that I let the garage turn into the mess it is. That sure is some beautiful country to have a campsite at!

Very nice pics. Looks like you guys are out and about.

What sort of rifles do you see people hunting with out there?

Around here, it's all scoped, 5 shot commercial boltactions, without a single scratch or any finish wear. Except me. Im fooling around looking for Mulies in the Sierras with a nice surplus .303

Upland bird is almost upon us. I hope you have a shotgun kicking around.

If you get an elk, you need to make a jealous and show a pic of you eating elk jerkey.

If you look close at the picture of me riding the quad with the ladder,Im wearing a rifle- 1951 Winchester model 70 .270.
Liked Jack OConnor's writing when at an impressionable age I guess. Most of my hunting compadres are liking 300 win mags or 7mm.I have taken everything from grizzlies goats mountain sheep elk and moose with that rifle or 3006 in a Sako.Their scratched.
Not too many elk taken in town yet been a weird season same with the moose this year
303 is a good round took my 1st moose with one way back surplus ammo too.Now cant use FMJ's for hunting
If I do manage to tip something over I will be sure to post
The dog is a Siberian Husky Not very often if ever on a leash. Not very talkative but a nice bush companion
Thanks
