Few newbie questions.

1. What's the real benefit of tapered tang?
2. What's the real benefit of dovetailed bolster?
I mean other than showing off the craftmanship, is there any good in term of functionality?

3. How to "attach" the detent ball onto the liner? Drill hole and then Epoxy it?

I dont feel it is showing off, it is a sign of a quality knife. The tapered tang helps lighten the overall knife and makes it balanced. The dovetail bolsters help hold the handle scales on and really look cool especially with a spacer or two. All adds value and keeps resale value high.
