I'm new to FF and proud of my new to me Bushboot. It came with what looks like a KSF South Pacific Sheath that has a Fiddleback Forge logo embossed on it. Does someone here do the tooling?

I'm not sure if I'll stay with that sheath or opt for a custom one. I've seen some great looking leather here!

Thanks for any info.

That's not tooled leather, probably computer laser etched.

I believe jre leather is the company that provides those sheaths to knivesshipfree

We laser the logo on the sheath. The sheaths are our own design and we have them made by Sharpshooter Sheath Systems.

You can always try and catch his work on here Tuesday's
It's an open post and he post previews on Instagram
If you are so inclined to check out social media

Can we see the back side of that sheath? There is no pic of it on the website. Thanks in advance

Dawgfan, CAD and anybody interested in getting a quality leather sheath, check out Heber Ellsworth aka wildmanh and Rick Lowe. They both are excellent craftsmen that make sheaths that are both aesthetically pleasing and bomb proof. Their prices are very competitive. They offer high and low end models, so if you are on a budget, they offer affordable sheaths built to last and above all, they offer great customer service--something that's rare these days. They've both been around since the early days of Fiddleback forge and I'm sure will be around for years to come. Do yourself a favor and check them out. I'm pretty sure their books are always open.

I'm shocked that this is the first mention of them in this thread.

Here's my Heber machete sheath (highly recommended btw) and my Rick Lowe Revluse sheath.

Great looking leather Joe. I'd like to get a custom sheath for my custom knife. Thanks for the info!

My book is always open, I'm just a slow reader and doze off on occasion.:D

For myself and Heber, thanks Josiah! Great photos.

dawgfan, the sheaths offered by KSF are well made and affordable sheaths. I've had a few of them (they came with my KSF purchases) and I've never seen any inconsistencies with their construction. If you're in the market for a custom, there's LOTS of makers on this forum - there's even a sheath sub-forum. I (personally) really like Mark Condos work. He does some really nice/attention to detail work - www.condosleather.com

CAD - sorry about keeping my books closed, but I found taking on orders & customs was consuming all of my available weekly leather making time. They take longer to make and are not cost effective vs time to me .. I just can not justify it from a business mindset - even if it's only a hobby-business. As it stands, I make as many sheaths I can in the 2 days weekly that I devote to leather. I take requests. If you would like to see me offer some tooled spider sheaths in my weekly for sale thread - drop me a note or email. I cant promise anything but I will try to get some made .. and they will be offered in my weekly thread on a first come basis. Fair enough?

Bud
