A week or so back I was scanning the big online trading site to see what I could see on old U.S. made Schrades. One of the knives I came across was the 2-blade jack, and it had the Future Farmers of America(FFA) logo on the handle scales. My oldest boy is in FFA at middle school and I am very proud of how well he is doing. So I tried to bid on it, but lost.

Now I am wondering if there are any other traditional knives out there with FFA logos on them?

I have an 8ot that has the FFA shield in the handle. Most of the FFA knives that I have seen are bright blue with the gold shield. There may be more. Can you send me a pm or e-mail?

I just got one a few weeks ago, hope it wasn't the one you bid on.
Anyhoo,check your messages.

There were 2 or 3 Old Timers used as FFA knives, the 33OT, 8OT, and a trapper (don't recall the pattern number). Those all have the blue handles, FFA shield, and dated blade etch. Some were sold in special FFA tins, but the most common examples are clam-packs. The trapper OT is the least common.

Browsing the big auction site, I also see many Case knives made for the FFA, and a few Bokers too.

I've owned this nice Golden Spike, and many other Schrade and Camillus knives, for a few years now. I'm getting up in years and have decided to sell off my collection a little at a time. This particular knife sold and I was about to ship today when I noticed some small stains that were not present when I first photographed the knife (lower picture). I stuck the blade in a block of Styrofoam during storage, to "protect" the knife, which in hindsight was probably not a good move. Anyway, I wiped the blade down with some Flitz and was surprised to see a faint FFA logo appear.

So, in addition to the Old Timers mentioned above, it appears the 153UH was a special factory order for Future Farmers of America.
