Since I have almost convexed everything in my collection, there are still a few I needed to do. My FFBM was next on the list. The usual 200 to 600 to leather belt sequence. I followed the same bevel set from the factory, so I was figuring the convex would be very strong but maybe not quite as sharp as some of my other thinner convexed knives.

I was wrong, this bad boy is a super strong .32" thick convexed curly machine
For real though, I can't wait to take this one out on a few trips to chop some stuff up with the convex edge. Loving it! Tried to capture it with a few pics, enjoy :)

And back home in the Chuddy for now...

That is nothing but a fine rig and knife!!! Man that FFBM is looking good and I bet it chops like crazy. Post-em when you go!!!

Took me about 15 minutes or so start to finish. I forgot to mention, I do my convexing on a belt sander, not by hand. I don't have the patience to try and do that by hand ha! :)

Lookin good! how long did the whole process take?

Well, I don't have a belt sander so I so everything by hand and let me tell you, convexing a FFBM by hand is a pain in the ars. There's a lot of INFI to remove. Total hours I've spent on mine is probably 16 (but I want a gradual convex and not a sudden)

Oh, nice set up

I did my FBMLE by hand long ago (before it moved on).

I have hand convexed an Ash1cg, modded and convexed an SS, BAD, and SarQ by hand. Lots of work.

I finally had to break down and do my KZII with my belt sander to set the bevel, I still finished it by hand and leather strop though.

Looks like you have a nice chopping rig set up there!
