Well I decided to strip my FFBM. I just like satin the best. I still have some detail work to do but, come on, she's a user.

Before:

After: (chemical stripper & some scotch-brite)

Now it's time to see if the smoother surface of the blade makes a performance difference. :D

Nice!

I am going to strip my sage Fatty the old-fashioned way. By beating the living Hog Poo out of it ....

Right on Schuey. ;)

I liked the feel of the handle before. But after sanding the spine, and the edge of the micarta slabs, it feels even better.

Here are a few more pics. I used one of those scotch-brite drill attachments. Works great.

And the best part is that the Busse logo remains this time. You can see it a little in pic 3. :D

so you did not use any stripping solution? only scotch bright drill attachment? or did you use stripping solution then run cleanup with the scotch bright attachment?

Either way, I think it looks great. I love stripped, I even love the dimples.

Thanks man. I started by applying a chemical stripper called Strypeeze. Ijust coated the entire knife. Let it sit for about 10 min and then scrapped the coating off. I applied a 2nd coat just to get a few stray sections here and there. Then I went to work with the scotch-brite. I have found that combo to be perfect for me.

How long did it take to do with the scotch bright wheel?. And which grit wheel did you use?.

Thanks C4MAN. It came out a lot like your BATAC. But not as sharp. Not yet.:D

If you get er' as sharp as my batac, ya better be careul swingin' that thing  I can see an industry wide shortage of 2x4's and such ;)

I really like it Tyrkon. I have been impressed by all of the stripped knives posted in the past year or so. One day I will strip one of mine.

very nice!
i've stripped a few skeletal ones with acetone and a wire wheel. not sure what acetone would do to micarta though.
