I just got my new FFBM yesterday, and had to take her out to beat her up a little. I got my pack all rigged with a BCS sheath and it is ready to go. I had to heat the sheath up a little to get fit just right. I already had a FBMLE , but man does this one feel good. The LE seem a bit thicker in the handle area, this one is just right. Here are a couple pics of my new setup. I can't wait to get out in the desert this weekend and break her in a little more.

Gotta love those FBMs:thumbup: Was that sheath made for the FBMLE?

The sheath is one of the BCS LE sheaths. I stuck the FFBM in it no problem. When I went to pull it out it was stuck. I heated the back of the sheath with a heat gun to soften it up. I had to work it a little to loosen it up, but now it slides in and out no problem. It still holds good enough to carry the knife upside down without it falling out.

The Mistress looks awesome. Take it out and beat it without mercy!

What desert do you go out to play in? I normally play with my INFI up around Big Bear, and I used to go shooting out around Thousand Palms.

There is an offroad race Saturday out in Johnson Valley, just south of Hesperia. I am going out with the wife and some friends to relax and drink some brews. It should be nice if the weather stays cooler than last week.

Man I love those FFBMs!!! Where did you get the pack? Look like a handy day trekker!!!

JTC, Nice looking pack. Gotta get me one of those FFBM's. That's next
on my list after a BAD. Gotta ask who makes the day pack? I'm in the
market for a new one and that one looks just the right size.

I bought a FFFBM green blade and it will be my 1st BM and I am excited to finally own one and should see it next week, the original owner want to use it to make a few extra Kydex sheaths before sending the FFFBM to me in return I got an excellent discount on my Kydex sheath. Glad to see you like yours and I have read nothing but high praises for the BM. Congrats!!

For the Pygmy Falcon II, check LAPolicegear.com. They had them for a great price a little while ago. The pack is a little smaller than I'd like, but I'm keeping mine for the wifey, and the Marine issue camo hydrastorm pack I got recently for myself.

JTC, how'd you get that warden on the molle straps? Is that with a tek-lok?

Yes, a large tek-lok fit just between the stitching. I mounted the BM on the side molle straps, I did have to cut out a couple of stitches though. With it sitting inside the drink holder area it is pretty stable. There is still enough room for a water bottle to slide in there too.

JTC, Thank's again for the info on the pack. Found a great deal on Amazon.com for the black pack for $67.00 plus shipping on sale. Wish I was back in the desert. Still need to find my Mistress.

It is a great pack, it has great quality materials and nice solid feel. You will be happy with it.

I have a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack and one Pygmy Falcon II. For the money, you just won't do better than Maxpedition (imo). There are better packs out there, but they are much more expensive (Kifaru). To this day I have not seen a better shoulder-pack design than the Versipack. I love the holster pocket.

As for pricing, LAPolicegear.com had the Pygmy Faclon II for 40$ not too long ago. You may also want to check them out for other gear as well. It seems they have some Spec-Ops stuff on sale right now. Haven't checked yet, but I did get an email today with the new sales.

You might also want to check LupaWolf and her husband's e-store, www.twowolvesoutdoors.com (or something like that.) I got my Versipack from them, and service was great. Lupa and her hsuband are also members here and are fans of the Busse family knives (Lupa loves her SwampRats). I don't know how their prices match up, but if they're comparable, why not give some business to the forum members?

Good Luck. You'll enjoy your Maxpedition products.

Jason
