Looking for a sheath for my FFBM, anyone have any suggestions and know about what I would pay. I just bought it, it will be my first Busse knife. I also want something that can take a beating, I live in Wyoming, so it needs to be able to take cold weather. I have some concerns about using leather due to moisture setting in. Thanks in advance, and post pictures if you got them.

Okuden, tough tough tough... and perfect fit. One of mine... they're pricey but worth it. I will say over 100.00 but less than 150.00, I'm not sure... I got mine through a deal.

I like Chuddy Bear and Mikeymoto. The one pictured is Chuddy Bear and it is top-notch craftsmanship, as well as Mikeymoto. I can take detailed photos of both if you want. But they are treated leather and should withstand cold weather, better than kydex. I paid around $120...I think, can't remember.

For the FFBM, I would recommend a drop-style sheath. This one is the dangler. With kydex, the inherent design puts the belt-loop at the ricasso? Which the handle will be jabbing your side. Unless you go with a drop-leg kydex that Steelnut or Okuden makes, but I don't have one to post a picture of, but they're nice.

+1 on Chuddy Bear! I have a lot of his stuff including a dangler for one of my FFBM's, top notch work and you won't have to send your knife in like with Okuden.

I'll have to post pics of the sides. It's around 1" thick with layers and layers of leathering and the rough side of the leather is smoothed out. Those details I love!

that chuddy looks awesome, can't wait to get my matched pair for the NM FBM+SFNO.

Buy Brown. Same warranty Busse has. $50 plus $6 shipping.

If it will get wet Kydex all the way ,,,,,,, no moisture Leather is my choice,,,,,looks , durability, and it won't crack @ subzero temps if it gets whammied. Prices will be $90 for a drop loop and $105 for a dangler (Chuddy's prices) , not sure about mikeymoto's, not dealt with him ,,,,,, yet. I'm sure he's comparable. They both do excellent work , all handmade. something to be proud to own and house 1 of your babies ! Naturally all this is IMHO

There will definitly be moisture, I camp out even when its snowing. I thought I read a post the other night saying something to the effect of Kydex has cracked in sub zero. It was a guy from Alaska I believe.

My NMSFNO sheath from Chuck at Chuddybear is finished and hopefully shipped today. Great work at a reasonable price and wait time. Kydex is a good choice too, I have one from MashedCat for my NMFBM. Very reasonable, around $65.00. All the makers that hang out here do great work though.

yea, i got one Mashed cat for my NM FBM. and it absolutely rock!
super sweet sheaths no dubt about it!
rides great on my backpack, the only ting im not keen about is it's hi-ride style.
but that is a fair trade when you take in consider the great craftsmanship and durability it holds! but as soon as i get my hands on some kydex i will make a droploop module for it=)

then it will be THE superior sheath!

For kydex I vote for Buy Brown and Mashed Cat mainly because I only have experience with them. They sheaths are awesome and attention to detail was superb.

The Buy Brown is a folded design and the Mashed Cat is a pancake design. Not sure if this is just a coincidence but each style has its pros and cons.

The folded is smaller but has less mounting options and vice versa for the pancake.

I've owned a couple kydex sheaths, no leather but my favorite by far is the Okuden kydex.

How high does that sit on the belt? How do you draw the blade out?

Thought I might as well throw out an invite. Come check out Mashed Cat! And no post is complete without a picture.

Anyone else have pictures of thier set ups. I really would like to see more setups with piggy backs.

Here is two of my Chuddybear piggyback setups, and like already said great work with awesome attention to detail, and very reasonably priced.

If you go Kydex, MASHED CAT has my vote!!!
Leather, any of the following: Rainwalker, Chuddy Bear, Kenny Rowe, Leatherman. All are outstanding craftsman.

I don't have a FFBM kydex, but I do for my NMFBM...
NOTE the dangler attachment on both the NMFBM & NMSFNO!!!
