I have been using my FFBM for quite a while chopping 3 to 4 inch trees pretty easily.
Yesterday I came across a deer caracass eaten up by coyotes. The deer had some nice 6 point horns I figured I might use for calling next hunting season.
It was -20oC and the carcass was frozen solid and alot of knive would have chipped but my FFBM didn't have any trouble chopping through the bones.

I love that FFBM :D

Yep, my FFBM will always be with in my collection! I just need to get some more now!

Any pics?

I love'em! :D :D

I'm on my second season with this one.

The FFBM is fantastic. It is actually a better chopper than some of the NMFBMs (because some of the NMFBMs are about .22" thick, when the FFBMs seem to range from .275 to .320") and it is hellaciously tough. A must have, really, and it might be wisest to get one now, when the prices are reasonable. I don't think they will get any cheaper in the future, unless something dramatic happens.

Really - I thought NMFBM were better choppers than FFBM.

Some of them are - but some are not. Although I have to say it really depends on what you're chopping. My NMFBM is fantastic, and it's one of the thinner (around .22" - .23" thick) ones. It works better than the FFBMs for those times when you have to chop a lot of small branches in one go, like in limbing a tree, because it's more forward heavy and longer. My FFBMs are heavier in weight, though, and do chop a little bit better when trying to chop through something really thick, like a big log. It's because there's a lot of thickness variation in the knives, so some of the heavy FFBMs end up sometimes chopping better than the thinner of the NMFBMs, if both are given similar, good edges. :) But that's just how I feel about it, anyway. Some may disagree. :D

cant wait to abuse mine pretty soon :)

Sorry guys no pics...
Basically it's a FFBM that I used alot, most of the coating was worn off so I stripped off the rest... I prefer it that way in fact.
Might need a second FFBM if the price is right :D

I had one and it was a great chopper! Heres the coating after alot of chopping. Held up well.
