I have the black/black/magnums from BCS.

I thought they were canvas micarta, but several listed on the ex said G10 with pics that looked exactly like my knife.

I really don't remember.:o Were the plain, basic, BCS, FFFBM's all G10? Micarta? What?

Thanks!

Rob

I believe there were both...
I know the black w/ black canvas came in both standard and mag.

Here's my FFBM with canvas mag...

I would think canvas micarta would be pretty easy to tell apart from G10. I can make out a pretty clear "weave" pattern in the canvas on the hand-shaped micarta handles on my NMSFNO.

Thanks Foo, that's it, more gray than black. What a beaste! Makes my SHBM feel like a fly weight.:D

Considering putting it on the block and wanted to be accurate with any descriptions.

THANKS MM! ;);) Now, I've got Sgt. Peppers running in my brane.:D

G-10 has that same weave pattern, I can clearly see it on mine. But the weave is white on the black resin in G-10 while the canvas appears to be closer to the color of the resin.

G-10 uses a fiberglass matting, while canvas micarta is self explanatory. Fiberglass will not dye black with the resin like canvas does in micarta.

I definitely don't find the weave to be as noticeable in g10, but then I don't have enough of either to make a detailed comparison. It probably depends on things like color and individual batch.

True dat!! :D

If more porkers could get their hooves on a SHBM,
I'm sure they would be king of the hill. ;)

Or would that be queen of the hill???
being a mistress and all. :p

.

black canvas micarta looks greenish gray fresh milled till you spit on it, then it turns black.

On my FBM the black G-10 has noticeable white weave showing, my badger is the most outstanding of the bunch, it has a speckled appearance even several feet away. The others I have dont show as much unless you get close, but even then I can see the weave.

Spit test says it's canvas micarta. ;);)

Was pretty sure that's what I ordered but, started reading and confused myself.:o

Thanks Guys!

Dwayne, long time, how's it going? Good I hope.

eh, could be worse, the house could be falling apart around my feet and the truck could be rolling down the street by itself.
