FFFBM vs FFBM

I was hoping one of the more knowledgeable/technical folks here could answer this one for me.

I am uncertain if these are two different knives or if one of the "F"s gets routinely dropped in posts.

On some of the websites I see the FFFBM (.320" thick), which I love. Then some posts in the exchange list a FFBM, also .320" thick. Both appear to be saber grind, 10" blades with magnum handles.

Anyway, same knife? if not, what are the differences?

Thanks guys.

yea, same thing...

Very correct, Sir Kang.

We just ran into acronymitis when the knife first came out. It's really supposed to be the "Fat, Flat Fusion Battle Mistress." That would be FFFBM. But ... most folks find it hard to hit the F key that many times.

So ... FFBM. <Insert "shrug" smiley>

Thanks for the quick/helpful response guys.

Just deciding if I should wait for that Funky Fly version.

Thanks again!

Exactly. Fat, Flat Fusion Battle Mistress, FFBM is shorthand. ;)

old thread, but for any future forumers, i believe the ffbm is saber grind, and fffbm is full flat. ive only handled ffbm, but remain fairly certain that they are two different blades.

Actually the FBM LE is satin and is Flat Ground. There is no FFBM LE, they are called the FBM LE. A normal standard CG of the FFBM is saber ground.

I always thought that the FFBM was saber ground, and the FFFBM was flat ground (hence Fat Fusion BM and Fat Flat Fusion BM). Is this not true?!

Well, besides the FBM LE, there were no production flat ground FFBM. I did get a hold of a coated one but that was a one off from one of the shows...

I think the flat refers to the lack of CBTs and not the grind of the blade. Both are Sabre Ground. (CBT is corrugated bevel technology seen on the CG FBM, Hell Razor and Jack Hammer. Since we are doing this thread for future searchers.)
