Why are people so excited about this?

What's the big deal, compared to the saber ground blade?

Tangibly it slicing capability but I like the aesthetics of the FFG as well. I have a FFG Coyote Brown Endura on pre-order myself.

grey isn't that vibrant.

The FFG blade just looks better on the delica IMHO. it also supposedly slices better. plus the colors are awesome.

It is more vibrant than black is. I agree that FFG blades look better on the delica and endura. It does definetly slice better because of the FFG, also the tip is a bit thinner, but still a bit rounded.

I already have a British racing green Delica with a FFG blade from a G10 Delica and I really prefer the FFG over the Sabre grind. It's my "true" EDC at the moment. I may need to pick up a brown one for a spare!

I think the FFG Delicas are popular for 2 reasons:
1) They look better than the sabres.
2) They're perceived to slice better than the sabres.

Any variant on the Delica is news, as far as I'm concerned. As others have noted, the FFG Delicas should be more efficient slicers- though I haven't noticed to be demonstrably the case with my G10 Delica (also FFG). The Saber-ground Delicas slice pretty well too. These FRN flat-ground Delicas look to have a pointier tip than other D4's, which I like. I've never come close to breaking a tip on any of my older Delicas, and the "pointier" tip looks cooler to me. I have a bright-green FFG Delica on order too.

Vibrant colors are good! I see this run as Spyderco's way of testing the waters with some brighter colors. If people snap up these bright ones, maybe we'll start to see them more regularly.

Is the FFG style going to be standardized, or are we going back to sabre ground.

If they sell well enough they will become the standard for all FRN Delicas while the Stainless Delicas will remain sabre ground. That's from Sal in the nutnfancy Shot Show video.

I just got my blue one a few hours ago. I still like my CF delica alot better, but the blue handles are nice!

My blue FFG Delica should be here in 1-2 days. I just don't have a FFG pocketknife and wanted one for slicing- simple as that.

My first FFG is a digi cam para, now I rarely consider a knife that is not FFG. I might make an exception for a bradley though!

Got my brown delica today. Sweet knife. The blade is much thinner than my zpd189 delica. First impression is great.

I like the FFG better because I seem to get a sharper edge when compared to the saber grind knives that I own. I have the Brown Delica and it is a super nice knife and really sharp.
