i'm sure that many of you have had experience with these new delicas and enduras. if so what do you like and dislike? or should i save up my money and get the g10 endura

I have two of the Delicas.
I love their value, ergonomics, cutting ability, and colorful looks.
I like how light they are, they are comfortable clipped to pocket.
No dislikes! :D

the flat grind enduras are great edc medium duty knives. i probably would'nt want to clean a deer or hog with that thin blade but general cutting duties its great. not my choice for camp duties since i like a beefier blade that would allow me to hurry thru some food & other camp prep chores.however i will concede they are slicing maniacs.

Anyone here remember the plastic clips on the old Endura's and snagging them on just about anything and crack!!! there goes the clip flying away.....:grumpy:

That happened on my delica 4 zdp-189 model, but it's not that old a model, what gives?

The old plastic handled Endura's had a molded plactic clip, I went through 2 before I switched to the Police model

Yeah, I've got one of the origional AUS 8 Endura's with full serrations and the molded pocket clip - I think the best thing to do is "retire" it as an artifact in the evolution of knives! on the otherside, I've a #2 Delica with ATS 55 steel and a fine edge - maybe I should retire that one too - and go buy a new one - Yeah, that's the ticket! problem is that I like them both too much and enjoy using them.
Peace
Revvie!

I dislike FRN. G-10, Micarta or CF in those colors would be great.

Not sure about the g10. I find zero faults with FRN in fact the grip is better with FRN IMO compared to G10 particularly when wet, dirty or worn.

I've got the new ffg Delica and Endura (with lovely blue handles) as well as the G-10 versions. I really like them all (especially the Delicas) and have no complaints whatsoever.

The FRN versions are cheaper, easier to find and a bit lighter. They also come in a variety of colours.

I have a FFG Delica in Brown, it is my khaki commando knife for office carry. The Delica is one of my favorite Spyderco knives as it is big enough for 99% of my cutting tasks, & fairly friendly looking to non-knife people. I went with the Brown to help blend in with my usual office attire of khaki pants. I am thinking about stripping the clip to the grey color vs the black, still undecided. I was nervous about tip strength when I first got it & compared it to my SE ZDP-189 Delica. I just figure I'll just be careful with any sideways prying - I did use it to pry off a staple when I could not find my staple remover. The FFG cuts like a laser, but this comes as no surprise as the blades on my Caly 3 & Calypso Jr. are the same way.

All in all, I like it.

Just got a foliage green G10 FFG Endura...great knife! Traded it for a Leatherman XTi I never used.

I will get them when they start making FFG in black.

I'm a fan of black FRN too, but the British Racing Green FRN on the ZDP-189 Enduras and Delicas isn't too bad, esp when it's not being lit up by an overkill camera flash. ;)

The only negative for me is the colored handles. I'm too old and conservative to get into colored plastic handles. I'll probably buy one when black or dard gray become available.
