Good grief, these FFG variants have me running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

I had the opportunity to get my regular Manix 2 turned into a FFG by Tom Krein. I never got around to sending it, and when I saw that Tom did not do regrinds anymore, I contacted him and confirmed it. Haven't been able to find anyone to take care of my hollow ground Manix 2.

Then, I had a chance to buy a Carpenter steel (CTSXH????), but the money order disappeared (not the sellers fault, this issue has been resolved too, got my refund back from the money order issuer).

It's already taken care of, but I ordered a Carpenter steel Manix 2 FFG, and got the wrong knife. The dealer has rectified the situation, but they don't have any more of the FFG knife.

I will be sending a money order to another dealer tonight for a FFG Manix 2.

Not the end of the world, but Sal, Eric, Joyce, SPYDERCO. This is not a rant, but let's get rid of the hollow ground Manix 2, and put a constant FFG Manix 2 out there. VG10 steel, whatever. I am just interested in the full flat ground blade, could care less about the steels.

Of course, I will not care after I get my FFG Manix. Patiently awaiting the Native 5 :D.

There have been a ton of FFG Manix2 knives. As far as getting VG10 on a Manix2, not gonna happen. That cost might be too much to bear. If you want a solid FFG inVG10, buy yourself a Superleaf and be done with it. There are also a ton of the CTS Manix2 knives around, just have to look around a little harder. If you are using MO only , that might limit the scope quite a bit. If you want the last CTS sprint, let me know and I can direct yo to a place that has them in stock, you could also get the M4 version that is still available.

Just throwing VG10 as an option out there. Not really looking for any particular steel, just looking for a full flat ground version.

The problem with that is that to import VG10 to the states would cost a ton. Japanese foundries might noteven consider it at all. The Superleaf is the closes thing to a Manix2 that uses VG10, which is why I threw it out there as an option. As I said, if you want a FFG Manix2, let me kow. They are not as elusive as you think, just need to know where to look.

+1 on superleaf. steel is amazing, ergos are great, rock-solid lockup. just be sure you can live with that
outrageous, wholly unnecessary choil.

I picked up a FFG Manix 2, I actually got the wrong knife in a shipment from an online dealer, ordered a FFG Manix 2 from another dealer while sending the other knife back, so now I have a second FFG Manix 2 coming to me. I'll just hold onto it and unload it for a Native 5 down the road.

Looking back on my OP, I see it as a crybaby rant. I also see that since I now have a FFG Manix 2, I could care less now about how they are offered. For those that don't have them however, get one. They are great knives.
