Were any regular run Sebenzas/Umfaans/Mnandis/Umnumzaans made with FFG blades? I am very seriously contemplating getting my Sebs and Umnumzaan the ol' FFG treatment, but I don't want to lose the awesome CRK warranty.

Chris, Heather, Anne, anyone at CRK, why don't we have FFG as an offering on Sebenzas?

FFG was offered for awhile. I used to have one. If my memory serves they did a run of blades and Chris wasn't entirely happy with the way they came out. I think all the flat ground Sebenza's blades were signed and dated by Chris. Mine was a large, I don't know if they did any for the small sebenza. Mine was made Dec, 2002. Pretty sure this was a bg-42 blade, and I think I got one of the last ones that they made. (I remember when I ordered it they had to check to make sure they still had some available.)

Great knife, it was my EDC for about seven years, until the spyderco sage 2 came out.

I have two pictures of FFG blades :) Chris was not happy with it and getting it perfect was a problem if I remember correctly.

I like them hollow ground anyway so I am happy. The performance of hollow ground blades I feel have been "neglected" somewhat the past few years. It is one of the oldest grinds around and has profen itself for me at least since I bought my first Kershaw model 1044 when I was 13.

I do remember that some FFG blades were done and then dropped at some point in the past. I've seen a few pictures.

Honestly, I have no issues at all with HG blades on folders. I've used them for years for all kinds of work and never had an issue with them. Aesthetically, I don't care one way or the other whether a blade is FFG or HG, as long as it's well done and properly sharpened.

You know that hollow grinds slice better, right? So unless you have problems with your CRK's not being tough enough, you'd probably be better off sticking with the standard grind than tracking down the flat ones.
