I was wrapping these handles last night and had an "mental moment". I usually protect the blade with newspaper and tape. After all the handling, the sheath forms rather well to the blade and can be slipped on and off easily. That got me thinking "I wish I could just wrap the newspaper in fiberglass and call it a day!". I have seen fiberglass scabbards with wooden cores but never a molded core with a leather covering(or something?). Anyone have info or experience with this?

Maybe I can just paint them down with epoxy....... Ha!

Beautiful pieces!! Outstanding!!

Now that I have all that drool off my keyboard I can type :o I saw a fiberglass core sheath on another forum, the fellow did a step by step on it. Let me see if I can find it and I'll let you know. I think it had a leather core, but not sure. He also makes the silver fittings for the top and bottom.
