Hello Everyone, My name is Aubrey Groover, and I'm proud to be an apprentice of Andy's. I am thankful for the blessing of the opportunity I have at Fiddleback. Being encouraged in my pursuit of craftsmanship is such a rare surprise, and I want to thank all of the guys at the shop, I appreciate it.
I've always been drawn to good blades, and the use of blades in the woods is something that I can happily get 'lost in'. For years I tinkered with a brake drum forge and squirrel cage blower, dreaming of being a craftsman. Meeting the Georgia Knifemaker Guild has helped me on the path to finishing blades of my own; and now that I have finished one I am eager to see what else I can come up with.
This is my first knife, I used 5/32 O1
OAL: 7 3/16". Blade length: 2 3/4". Handle: 4 1/2"
(still working out how to link photo's properly)
I am fascinated by the history of steel, and the applications that man has found for it.
I look forward to getting to know yall here, learn, and grow in the way of the blade.
