This thread is a tad old, but seems worth reviving.

I'd dearly love to see a Bird & Trout model. Something slender and capable of filleting a trout and dressing out a pheasant. Slender and 3.5-4.0" long (I like a longer knife, longer than traditional B&T's). Thin steel with a Scandi grind or perhaps FFG. Plenty of belly, maybe even a slightly up-swept tip. Flat top line would work. The F2 pictured above seems like a good start. I'd go for one of those in a heart beat. But a true B&T would be fantastic.

How about this Rotte:

Osprey Knife & Tool RAPTOR
Flat ground on 3/32” CPM 154 3.75" blade

Should make a great Bird and Trout

I agree with this recommendation. I love my Raptor in 3/32" CPM 154. It has replaced several other knives to become my B&T knife of choice.

I haven't gotten to do any game cleaning with it yet, but I was lucky enough, with some awesome help, to get the latest F2 that Andy made. 3/32 154 with Crimson micarta. Love it! Here's the only chore I've gotten to do with it yet. Slicing up some elk backstrap. I think the F2 would filet decently using the "over the rib" method. Traditional filtering really needs a bit more length. Also take the skin off a filet would be hard with the F2 I think. I'll give it a try sometime. Maybe this weekend.

I do not have a picture, but maybe Allen can get one up of his Pompano. It has fantastic specs for a B&T knife. The Kestrel is another good option. With spring around the corner it may be time to get a few out. You listening Mr. Surls...?

These applications are the exact reason I want a Wingman, and asked Andy if he had considered doing a version stretched out to a 4 to 4.5 inch blade. But I love the way this version feels and handles and plan on getting one asap.
