Fiddleback Birthdays

This is a post to share when you either bought or took possession of your First Fiddleback. And any other ramblings about your experiences.


Here's my entry:

Lately I've been thinking it was getting close to 1 year when I bought my first Fiddleback. I read the St Patty's Day thread yesterday and saw that I took possession of my First Fiddleback on 3/16/2016. I can't believe its been a year already (time flies when you're having fun) and in other ways, I can't believe it has only been a year (holy crap, I bought and sold how many???)

And wow, what a great community, what great people and friends ... who I never met.

My 1st Fiddleback that just arrived yesterday , purchased from lamco3. Handyman 1/8 O1 dyed Mango with black liners and lime pinstripes. Very cool how the greens, depth and reflection change in lighting.

The actual color is somewhere in between these with and without flash. I have envy for some of the knife photo taking talent on here.

I'll play! I kind of have two Fiddleback Birthdays...

Technically my first Fiddleback was a Patch in 1/8 O1, eucalyptus burl over black with lime stripes. I bought it from USAMadeBlade on July 24th, 2015.

I decided it wasn't quite what I was looking for, so I sold it. Though I will say that I do really like that Patch model and would like to own another.


The knife I consider my first is my F2 in 3/32 CPM154, crimson micarta over natural with white stripes. It was the first one that really called to me; I had to have it. It helped that I had been saying I wanted a stainless F2 for a while before this one popped up! It was also my first Friday purchase, though I didn't do the hard work because I was out in the field doing a collection and only had spotty service. I remember seeing the preview and trying to scheme up a way to get that knife. Necrolicious offered to shark it for me, thanks again! So Fiddleback Birthday number 2 is January 29, 2016.
