No no it's not what you think, lol. I recently bought a KPH off the private market and received it today. I noticed that the blade is sterile, there are no markings at all and it has 3 handle retainers instead of 5 like the modern knives do. It feels like a fiddleback, has the fisheye, and after a few swipes on my strop is the sharpest thing I own! Was just wondering if some of you that have been around for years could help me put an approximate date to this knife. Please and thank you. Sorry for the crappy pic, and yes, I am the batman!

Cant help you with the circa dating, but I have a couple older ones that look like no makers mark are on them, but under the right light .. you can still faintly see it on the spine.

You're right bud, it is ever so slight but there. Simply says "fiddleback" in print not scroll. Thanks man.

There's a picture of pretty much every one he's made on the fotki. you could start scrolling through.

from the "lightness" of the spalting, I'd guess 2011-ish. It seems his older stuff had much darker, more prevalent, spalting

The title didn't make sense to me considering most of us are married?!?!?!!

Really didn't make sense to my wife ;)

Glad you tracked it down emoney. Going through Fotki or searching through threads started by Fiddleback that contain the model and keywords you're looking for (handle material especially) I can normally find hits in Fiddleback Friday threads.

I have a single recluse who enjoys long walks on the beach, playing raquetball, and kegstands. Oh wait, wrong thread.

Shy Hiking Buddy (hidden tang) that enjoys long walks in the woods, cooking, and sitting around the campfire sharing stories.

Wait... am I in the right place?
