i haven't posted an update here since I purchased my "last knife" a few months back, so I figured this latest trip was as good of an excuse as any.
Two weekends ago I lost a ~20" brown trout on my homewaters(hooch), so I figured this past weekend I needed to head up north to try and forget about that fish of a lifetime by chasing some smaller purtier bows.
So a buddy and me headed towards the GA and SC border. We planned to backpack in and fish for the next day and a half. It was a blast. The fishing was a bit slow, but that's not what this thread is about.
Along with my pack and 2 fly rods I brought along a canal street pocket knife and my FF patch knife. The FF never left my hip the whole trip, even when I was submerged in chest deep river water.
It didn't do a whole lot. It did some very minor fire prep work, opened the random bag, cut a little line, but this was its first trip in the woods since I bought it. I couldn't have been happier, and not once did I feel under knifed.
I also got a chance to try out the sample fat rope that I got with my purchase from the fiddleback outpost. This stuff worked like a champ. I will probably be purchasing some more. It made fire starting a breeze.

And this is what it's all about.

Good company, good cutlery, and amazing views, I really couldn't ask for much more!

It's wearing some beautiful blood wood. I was apprehensive at first, because I've had abad experience with blood wood oxidizing. This one however has aged beautifully.

Thanks. I'm going to add it to my list of wood to research. Do you know if it was stabilized? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Looks like a great trip! I'm here sitting on a night shift feeling jealous.
