I just wanted to take a minute to say how much I appreciate Andy, Ken and gang and their ridiculously awesome customer service. Its all about the little things. The things bigger folks wouldn't consider.

Here is a perfect example of why FF rocks. Maybe its just me, maybe I'm just crazy, who knows...

So many of us got this weeks batch in today :D and have had a chance to open our packages. I've noticed this previously, but just passed over it as a mere accident. I open up my USPS package (Go 'Merica) pull out my wrapped Sneaky Pete (Besides the Bushcrafter THE best handle you can get). I pull off the twill and business card and there lies my knife nicely nestled in what can only be described as aborted grocery sacks. I flip the knife over to where the paper is sealed closed.

This is where the magic comes in. I go to claw at the packaging tape when OH MY SWEET LORD!!!!!!!!! the tape has been folded underneath itself to make ease of opening.

WHO THE F*** DOES THIS?????????

Andy Roy and his peeps, that's who. It takes 5 seconds to do, but nobody on this earth takes the time for that anymore. I'm not gonna lie. I wouldn't do it for you. I suck. Andy doesn't.

This people, is why i have devoted so much support for Andy. The little things. And you should too.

Yep lots of things, big and small, have been the reason I have been supporting Fiddleback Forge for the last five or six years. It's just always been an awesome experience!

I'm starting to believe the concensus is that I'm crazy... :/

Well, lol, for all I know you may very well be. BUT it isn't because you notice and appreciate the little details of Fiddleback Forge's excellent customer service :) You don't get service like that just anywhere these days!

I wouldn't sweat it, I don't think people are into getting into discussions today for some reason...

maybe ill get ken to wrap one of mine up before i pick it up next time
:p

That must take a lot of self control, being within driving distance

I agree! I'd really be broke if I lived anywhere near there. I'm going to stop into the shop in 2 weeks. I'm taking a 400 mile (200 each way) detour while on our way to visit family in South Carolina.

How kind of them to fold the tape under like that. I haven't noticed that on any of my recent purchases. Hmm... maybe it was something special for you Dave. Or maybe the wrapmaster was feeling extra sweet on Tuesday. Whatever it is, the Fiddleback team does rock.

The Fiddleback band aids were a great touch a couple years back. I used them all! :D Never ending customer service!

I admit I was surprised when I saw that too. My first thought was that is just genius I need to do that. My second thought was to curse every package from every second hand Busse knife I've ever gotten where they use 2 rolls of packaging tape.

Ken rocks!

Yeah, Ken is he man for sure; he definetly keeps things moving over at FBF and let's Andy concentrate on making awesome knives. Seriously , I've been collecting knives for 25+ years and the only maker I have >3 of is Andy... Mainly in part due to his craftsmanship and awesome customer service.

It's this attention to detail that keeps me coming back for more. I just love fiddlebacks.
Mick from Down Under.:D

That little bit of detail is a Judy touch. She also does the most amazing job detailing the knives before they go out. I feel blessed to be working with the team I have now.

You aren't crazy at all. Attention to detail shouldn't stop with the knife imo. Packaging is important! I repurposed the brown paper for dyeing leather (best to keep that stuff off the granite if you want a happy wife!) and I kept the blade sleeves for other knives that don't have sheaths yet.

Very cool for sure. Constant improvement is fantastic.

We call it the Knife Liberation Tab. Frees your knife fast, without the need of another knife.

I used to work in a high end picture frame shop. Most of our work went to museums, galleries, collector's, those kinds of places. Well, one of the brilliant girls working there was a wizard with tape and she always packaged things up with the unpacker in mind. So, we all have her to thank for this marvelous little detail.

I also used to work at Eastern Mountain Sports. When a new shipment was delivered most of the boxes were labeled "No Knife" with a picture of a box cutter crossed out in a circle. Johnny the backroom guy loved to just sit and stare at the boxes, every time saying "well then, how do you reckon we open them?"
