Fiddleback Forge Models Spreadsheet

I keep a detailed spreadsheet of all the Fiddleback Forge models to help me prioritize my purchasing and as a reference guide for differences between the models. I’ve stripped out the columns that are personal to me like my priorities, which ones I already have, and personal notes. Here's the static data from the spreadsheet for reference. I'll update this as needed. I'm also adding more details, like blade style, "family" (which knives go together based on a similar design but in different sizes), and links to the model page on the Fiddleback Forge website. If you have anything to add, or can fill in the blanks, please let me know.

A sortable, searchable online version is kept here: Fiddleback Forge Model Spreadsheet

From the above page there is also a downloadable Excel spreadsheet if you want to grab it and add your own columns and details.

Please note that the dimensions I give are the typical general ones given, and each knife will slightly different. For example, Andy calls the Bushfinger a 4" blade and a 4.5" handle. The actual dimensions of specific Bushfingers will be different. The source for these stats are from various places, but mainly the Fiddleback website, here in the forum, and my own knives.

Also note: This is not meant to replace the Models, Tang-Types, Steel Thicknesses, & Weights by any means. If anything, the spreadsheet can give you a jumpstart on filling out your own personal data for your collection that can then be contributed to that thread.

Thanks Nathan, this is really helpful. I would have guessed Andy had 30 or so models, but it's actually close to 50!!

Thanks for sharing this useful reference Nathan.......reminds me how many I'm still missing......don't let my wife hear me say that

Very nice and useful reference to be able to sort and scroll down the various models all in the same spot.

I've been interested in acquiring a Fiddleback Forge knife for several months. Haven't had an opportunity to handle one in person so I've struggled a bit with making a final decision on which model would make a good 1st purchase. Huge thanks for putting this together as I think it will allow me to prioritize and finally pull the trigger.

This is a fabulous resource Nathan. I wish that I had this when I was getting started with Fiddlebacks. Even though I feel moderately experienced at this point, It is still useful to me as a planning tool for what I would like to acquire. The only thing that I could see adding to make it the perfect resource for all Fiddleback fans would be a close-up profile shot (or link) of each model to go with the description. Maybe Andy or Ken should send you one of each model for you to take more of your consistently excellent photos to edit in. That might be a good deal for you to get to try everything in exchange for some extra advertising for them. Of course you might be encouraged to keep one or two...

The only thing that I don't like about this post is seeing the discontinued "X" on a couple of models that I want. There are a couple of desirable gems in that category.

Thanks again for posting this.

Phil

Yes, there are a few, if not all, of those X's that I wish I had.

I started adding the description for each knife from the website to the spreadsheet. I'm still thinking about if I'll post that update. I'm hoping for it to be a quick reference and a jumping off point to find more information on the official website or here in the forums.

Maybe this info will be useful as a start for a reference resource as mentioned in the other thread. It's missing the latest models. And my website is down so you can't get to the more complete version.

Of note for the Woodpecker, there are only 6

There's also a Bow Legged Belt Knife and a Three Finger Joe. I'll try to get you the data tomorrow when I have a planned rub-down of the collection. (I'm thinking Sentry Tuf-Clot)

Edit: Since I'm not exactly sure on where you are making the cuts for blade and handle, here's the pictures on my daughter's mat.

Wow!! I'll have David look at this. We may be able to incorporate it into the website.
