Andy’s note - I love making knives for you all. Thanks to everyone for supporting Fiddleback Forge. It’s an amazing feeling to do this for a living. Fiddleback Forge depends on y’all, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
We have a beautiful batch of knives for you this week. We all got a little time off last week, which gave our necks and hands a well earned rest. A lot of the handles this week are straight from the Blade show. We spent a little too much money on handle material but we hope you’ll agree it was completely worth it.
It’s the little things that keep a shop running smoothly. We made a new set of angle iron oven stands for the knives going through heat treat. This is one of two ovens that we have, you can see the knives in the stand -
The new stands are in back. After about 5 or 6 months of use they look like the ones in front –
It’s also fun when the weather rolls in around here, as we’re not far removed from it.

Bushfingers, one stout Ironwood Bushcrafter, Sneaky Pete, and a Big Sneaky – The Amboyna handles on the Bushfinger and Sneaky Pete both came from the same large block that we got at the show. We think this stuff is just fantastic. You’ll notice the different colorings on the two sides of each knife. They scales are bookmatched to one another. We’re not sure if the lighter side will darken up over time but would love to know over the years. We have enough of this block left for 2 or 3 more knives in the future.
