I love making knives for you all. Thanks to everyone for supporting Fiddleback Forge. Its an amazing feeling to do this for a living. Fiddleback Forge depends on y’all, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
Well, as you can see we’re a bit out of our element this week at the shop. That guy at the grinder there is miserable. I know this because it was me. I am amazed at how tough our team is. I can’t thank them enough for that dedication. When I stepped back to take a look at the batch, it makes me feel good to know that we are making a quality product right here in America! When everyone else was shutting down American manufacturing, we started up. I’m blown away by this! What a life.
Ken and I both picked one for Blade Show this week. He is going to start a little blog about our preps, and featuring his pick each week.
Be on the lookout for ‘model standard’ knives. When I say this, I mean to say that the knife in question is as good as I have ever made that model. They will of course have tapered tangs. In addition to this though, the grinds and handle shapes are ‘just right’ in my opinion.
The steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 steel and CPM 154 with Fiddleback Textured Flats.
Please note that the SS is a big thicker than the measurement I order because most folks surface grind to size. So this means 1/8” thick blades are really ~0.140” thick.
Payment may be made to Paypal, or by personal check or MO. I hold all personal checks until they have cleared. This usually doesn’t cause a delay because they usually clear before shipping day.
Attention!!! The paypal address is: fiddlebackpayments at att dot net. Please describe your purchase in the payment notes.
Shipping is included within the US. Ken has taken over the shipping department and we are going to be setting up a special e-mail address for all questions or concerns regarding shipping. I’ll give that out when the new website is launced.
