I love making knives for you all. Thanks to everyone for supporting Fiddleback Forge. Its an amazing feeling to do this for a living. Fiddleback Forge depends on y’all, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
Some of you who have visited the shop know that I find and collect wood. I’m no Carl Rechsteiner, but I have an eye for the stuff. This week my box came back from Nicholas and I am super proud of the wood on the knives this week. I like to find and use woods you don’t often see on knives, and this week you will really get to see some spectacular Lacewood, Red Oak, Sycamore and Ash. In addition, you get some pretty burls to look at too. Its nice having Ken around because with his furniture background, he appreciates the woods as much as I do.

The steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 steel and CPM 154 with Fiddleback Textured Flats.
Please note that the SS is a big thicker than the measurement I order because most folks surface grind to size. So this means 1/8” thick blades are really ~0.140” thick.

OK this week I made so many small knives in big lots that I am not going to show them all together. So, we are starting out with this gorgeous little Karda that got to wear Burl. I usually don’t put this top shelf burl on a Karda, but half of the block turned out to be a void, so I couldn’t get it onto a Sneaky Pete.

The Week of the Raptor. Not only are there LOTS of raptors to choose from, there is a LOT of variation. The Bushraptor is a really excellent knife to play with. In addition to these, I made myself one this week. (An Asp too!! Woot!)
