As always, my first priority is to thank all of you. Fiddleback Forge depends on y’all, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.

Fiddleback Friday again. Its nice to get back into a rhythm. Lots of pretty knives this week. Be sure to check out the Padre (kitchen knife) and the Hunter that is wearing the pinecone micarta handle.

The prices this week are without sheaths. I am lucky enough to work with both Heber Ellsworth and Rick Lowe. Both make fantastic sheaths that are completely different from one another. I appreciate your support for them as well.

All of the steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 except for the Hiking Buddy and daggerground Bushboot, which are CPM 154cm.

Payment may be made to Paypal, or by personal check or MO. I hold all personal checks until they have cleared. This usually doesn’t cause a delay because they usually clear before shipping day.

Attention!!! The paypal address is: fiddlebackpayments at att dot net. Please describe your purchase in the payment notes.

Shipping is included within the US. We do all our shipping on Thursdays.

Another gorgeous batch, Andy.
I don't know how you come up with so many amazing combinations. But, keep 'em coming!

I will accept the Padre as an early birthday gift, thanks. Looks really knice.

this is NOT an "I'll take it."

I will accept it, though :)

2013 0614 03 – Hiking Buddy, Stabilized and dyed Black Palm with a white pinstripe, Full thickness tang, Convex on 1/8” thick CPM 154cm steel - $285

I'll take it!

Andy, can you tell me how CPM 154 compares to O-1?

CPM154cm is stainless right? So no worries on getting it wet or rusty. I THINK CPM154cm is tougher than 0-1 (but therefore not as easy to sharpen)

Hi,

I'll take the 2013 0614 012 – Hunter, Pinecone micarta scales over black with a white pinstripe, Tapered tang, Convex on 5/32” thick steel - $365

As usual, I have to comment on that scandi Arete - it's a dream - well, close ...The dream would be tapered tang and beefy slabs (hint, hint).
Awesome batch !!

Hi,

I'll take the 2013 0614 012 – Hunter, Pinecone micarta scales over black with a white pinstripe, Tapered tang, Convex on 5/32” thick steel - $365

Nice score sir! That is top three coolest FBF handles I've seen. Awesome job Andy!

Nice! I'll take this one.

2013 0614 010 – Arete, Osage Orange over natural canvas with a white pinstripe, Full thickness tang, Convex on 1/8” thick steel - $250

I will have to say damn! on this one and thank you for saving me money all at the same time....and seconds ;)

Like that KE Bushy a lot too!

The scales on that recluse remind me of the old SOG Vietnam era tiger stripe. Made me think of Magnum P.I. having flashbacks of running through the jungle trying to rescue T.C. from the bamboo cage...

Nice! I'll take this one.

2013 0614 010 – Arete, Osage Orange over natural canvas with a white pinstripe, Full thickness tang, Convex on 1/8” thick steel - $250

You got it! Thanks.

I will take:

2013 0614 001 – Runt, Black canvas, Mosaic Pin, Scandi on 1/8” thick - $160

Money sent!

I'm glad to see there is a selection of Scandi grinds!

There were three more with hidden tangs this morning, but they sold before they ever hit the page.

You got the Runt. Thanks!

Black Canvas Runt: $160.00 - I will take it!

Black Burlap Karda: $265.00 - I will take it.

Thom, you got the Karda. Thanks

You got it. Thanks.

As to how it compares, its a supersteel. The wear ability is off the charts compared to simple steels. 01 is tough stuff, so I don't think its much better in that regard, if at all. Basically its an order of magnitude harder to sharpen, but once its sharp, it stays sharp very well.

Hi,

I'll take the 2013 0614 012 – Hunter, Pinecone micarta scales over black with a white pinstripe, Tapered tang, Convex on 5/32” thick steel - $365

GREAT!! Thanks!

Great looking batch Andy!

There were three more with hidden tangs this morning, but they sold before they ever hit the page.

This has my interest. What model(s) with a hidden tang and scandi? I can imagine a Hiking Buddy looking very much like a traditional Puukko in this configuration.

From the mouths of the makers, heat treatment will sway the performance of them all, in the end.

I would think CPM154 would be more prone to chipping and more stain/rust resistant.

It's all a trade-off and personal choice.

I like D2. D2, please ;)
