Sitting in my car waiting for the ferry to take me homewards and to the ER
Feels kinda funny on Fiddleback friday wearing my snowmobile boots as those were the only ones that fit after my wife put a field dressing on my lefty big toe:)

Short story: I messed up and dropped my newly sharpened ff full tang non skeletonized bushcrafter on my toe:) definately not a warranty issue as there was no edge damage at all.

Lesson learned: tapered tangs & thick boots, get rid of your FF toothpick before you drop that aswell(aint selling)

Please share your FF lovebites

Lol, love the thread idea. But dude, seriously, careful with starting a thread with the words "Fiddleback friday". That could have caused pushing and shoving, spilled coffee, and train wrecks on five continents for pete's sake :)

Good thing ER visits aren't expensive here in Norway :D I don't think I have any cuts from my Fiddlebacks, I do have a couple from other knives... :o

Mountain cabins, farms, bews and ales, Norway just keeps sounding better and better...

The $5 is good, but the cheap stuff is $4. Expensive is about $10 for a pint in stores.. Prices in Pubs are a lot higher...

Got an ale finished brewing a short while ago, not perfect. Will try a darker type the next time :D

I'll take a $5 good beer. The large bottled beer that I typically use in my Fiddleback on Tap posts range anywhere from $8 - $16 for a 22oz US or larger (little bigger than an imperial pint - not sure what a pint is in Norway).

To bring this back on topic :)

I did a good number on my index finger with my Kephart while carving a spoon late at night. Kids were already asleep so I wrapped it in a towel and drove myself to the ER so the wife could stay home with the kiddos.

7 stitches and a bonus tetanus shot.

Click the pic link if you don't mind the sight of a bloody, mangled finger: http://i1327.photobucket.com/albums/u671/thurin_/IMG_1702_zpsbd536be0.png~original

Most beer is in 500mL cans or bottles here. Some in 350mL

Pic on track:

Was from a Bark River Northstar that fell from the kitchen counter and I deftly caught it without seeing what it was that was falling :o very thin zero convex, even the doc commented on how clean the cut was ;)

Knut,

Heal up quickly! A Bushcrafter would be much better to drop point first on your toe than any number of the new super pointy stuff Andy's been doing. I'm waiting for the Fiddleback Icepick.

+1! I'd hate to drop my old school, non skeletonized full tang Kephart on my toe. Good gosh that would smart.

Thanks guys, just got in the door to my house, 5 stitches across my big toe, luckily no neural or vascular damage.

Mistwalker: I would NEVER EVER (giggle)/(fnitter) dream of messing up someones Fiddleback Friday and potentially cause a worldwide stir:).
It seems this incident messed up only my FF as I missed everything and this was a sweet, sweet batch.

As for Norway being nice.....yes it is indeed and with the wages over her we can afford overly expensive beer so I guess everything is in accordance. Myself I am more of a single malt guy if I ever drink.

I just noticed the commotion on another thread and seriously, no disrespect or pun intended, just spur of the moment thing, while I was waiting for the ferry. Fridays are at least to me FF and not mere fridays anymore.

And we do need a love bite thread:)

I got a kiss/love bite on Wednesday opening a Kephart of off the flea market. The knife was wrapped in original brown paper, but the seller put extra tape around the wrap. I was EDCing my Bark River Essential which I freshly sharpened an insane scary sharp edge on over the weekend. I was using the Essential to cute the tape with the strong hand, holding the wrapped knife with the weak. I was making a cut towards my thumb (dumb I know) and it was cutting very smoothly. It caught momentarily, increased pressure slightly, then it broke loose and barely touched my thumb just behind the thumb nail. Barely even felt it, but boy did it bleed. A nice cut about the width of the thumb nail. No stitches, and not caused by a Fiddleback directly, so I'm not sure if this counts.
