Well, were well into the new year, so I'm back at this stuff full time this week. Boy what a week we had. Notajerry's kid and his wife came to the shop and in two days we made 4 Sylvrfalcens. One of those (the one I made) will be up for sale this evening. Can't speak for Ricky, but for me the class was a lot of fun. Most people taking the class are knifemakers who are there for the skill teaching and process optimization and efficiency stuff. This was a Fiddleback Fanatic, and he brought along his wife to make a knife as well. They are a great couple. I was very nervous that the shop would underwhelm, or the work process would bore them, but I didn't see any of that. I think they both had a great time. I think they were impressed at how difficult it is to make a quality knife. AND the knives came out great too.
This week I have 4 for y'all that are standouts. I can't thank y'all enough for the support. Carley and I, and our families live by y'alls enthusiasm and it is a thought we bleed into every knife. Good luck tonight!
1. Pocket Kephart - 1/8" Nitro V steel with a tapered tang. Blue Jean burlap scales with black canvas liners and tiffany-blue-tiffany g10 racing stripes.
2. Sylvrfalcen - 1/8" A2 steel with a tapered tang. Crosscut Cutting Board paper micarta scales with natrual canvas liners and green g10 pinstripes.
3. Loner - 1/8" A2 steel with a tapered tang. Orange dyed and stabilized White Oak scales with natural canvas liners and orange g10 pinstripes.
4. Protagonist - 1/8" A2 steel with a tapered tang. Arizona Desert Ironwood scales with black canvas liners and blue g10 pinstripes.
