Ok here we are. Friday again. This was a sprint week for Fiddleback Forge because of the ice storm. We were closed on Monday. I got a great batch of knives done anyway. Sprinting to the finish line getting this thread out this late.
I have to do a shout out to a friend Dr. Unruh also one of my wonderful customers. He lives in the same small town as my parents place (well, my place now) in Mississippi. He called me twice to check on them and offered his help if they needed it. Man, I have been blown away many times by all of y'all and this really made me think about it. I am so blessed to have the support of this crew and this industry. You all have my thanks. Its a two way street. Reach out if you need me.
The knives this week are good ones. I'm offering a Woodpecker, which I am told but have no experience doing with this knife, is an excellent arbor knife. I had cancelled making the Woodpecker because I had intended as a carving knife but when I carved with it I didn't like it. But this most excellent customer who goes by Geo Gea asked me to make it again and explained why he loved it. So its back. I can't get over how lucky I am to have y'all as customers. I have learned a lot about knives from y'all over the years. Once again a two way street.
I've also got a Toboggan with some outstanding Walnut. Someday I'll keep a Toboggan. I want every one I've made. One of my best handles. The Lone Star EDC this week is in Magnacut. Check out the finish on the flats. I'm pretty proud of the way I've figured out how to finish the flats w/ Magnacut. I love the Lone Star in 3/32. Its so light, and the tip is a needle. Finally a good Kephart finishes the batch. Blaze orange burlap micarta from Shadetree and Nitro V.
I hope you love these and I appreciate y'all more than you can imagine.
