Finally, I have placed the official order for the line of Machete's I've drawn up with Imacassa. I should have samples of all 4 of these by the end of April, and hope to have the blades around Blade Show time. Maybe even in time to bring a few to the show!

There will be 4 models: 12", 14", 16", 18". I'm very excited about the 12" model because paired with a belt knife and pocket knife I can't imagine a better bushcrafting trio. Light, batonnable, shelter-able. The finish is going to be like the Collins Machete's I've been modding, which, it turns out is a sandblasted, then heat treat scale left on finish. They will be tapered over the entire length, and they'll come edgeless, so the edge will be put on by yours truly. The handles will be Natural Canvas Micarta at the base price.

They look great. Very interested in this project.

I'm glad to hear it. I was hoping to have you be a tester. They're gonna come with no edge, and I plan to do some with your edge mods. The great thing is that there is a drop to protect your fingers from the scandi part, so I won't feel so much trepedation about putting it close to the handle!

Those look great! I've really enjoyed the Collins you modded (especially after rounding the handle a little more) so I'd love to get my hands on one of these. With the weather getting better there's gonna' be a lot of chopping time in my future for sure! :D

Man that sounds like it should be great! I love to watch Mac's tropical excursions and machete use!

If this happens and I miss it somebody please p.m. me! I don't use machetes here, and would never even consider testing one here, because with all the hardwoods it would be for the most part taking it out of its intended element and an unfair test...sort of like testing a .22 hunting big game...it can be done but why would you want to if you have another option. However I am hoping to make a trip to see some family in south Florida this next winter and one of those would be sweet in the glades, better than my heavy bowies for that environment. I love the handle design!

Hey! Glad as hell to see y'all like em. I'm really lusting for the 12 personally...

What steel are you using? Whats the blade thickness? The hardness numbers? Heat treatment?

The 12 inch is very tempting. I am looking at an EESE Junglas now, but have not pulled the trigger on it.

The blades are going to be done by Imacassa in 1070 carbon steel at 52 ish rc.

Those machetes look pretty good. I like the handle shape and handle to blade juntion. Looks like you spent some time thinking this though. Please keep us posted.

Very Nice, especially like the 14". Can't wait to see some pics of one finished.
