Hey everyone,
I've spent a lot of time on in this subforum since I found it and have learned a ton from everyone here. I have been compiling that info into an Excel spreadsheet and wanted to try to give back to the forum. Hopefully, someone will find this info useful.
Spreadsheet can hopefully be downloaded here (first time using this website so hopefully it works)
First tab is the Registry Tab. It is a list of my modest FBFK collection and info about them. This is a great personal reference for me. I can sort all of my knives by each of the columns in order to organize them. It will become much more helpful as my collection grows.
If people like the template, please feel free to use it to organize your collection. Feedback to tweak the template would be much appreciated. Pic below for easy reference:
If you are actually using the spreadsheet, then if you click on the links in Column C "Fotki Link" it will bring up a pic in your browser from Fiddleback Forge's Fotki account. If you click on the link in Column Q "Current Owner", it will bring up the Bladeforum account so you can easily send a PM to the person.
If people really like the Registry template, we could use it on a larger scale. On a voluntary basis, people could send me (or anyone else we designate) their list and I could compile them into a master Registry that would be made available to the Public or just limited to those who contribute depending on feedback. I think this would help a ton in the Fiddleback Flea Market and especially with trades within the Fiddleback Community. We could also just limited this to Trades only.
I want to emphasize that I see this as completely voluntary. I was originally going to go back through the Fiddleback Friday threads and start adding all the knives (I like organizing data... I'm a weirdo), however I decided against it on privacy concerns. If you decide at a later date you don't want your knives on the Registry anymore, they would be removed ASAP. You could also provide just knife info and no Owner info at your discretion.
Second tab is a glossary of FBFK terms. I compiled most of the info from the recent Terminology 101 thread. I cut and pasted some of the info in that thread, so thank you to everyone who provided info.
It is very much a work in progress. If you see any errors or think of other info that should be added, please let me know.
Feedback for both ideas is appreciated.
Thanks,
-Mike
