As an aspiring knifemaker, I'm selling some of my favorite blades to fund shop tools. I think Andy can sympathize with the pain in doing this:grumpy: My collection is comprised of mostly Fiddlebacks, none of which get the use they truly deserve. If you dig around you can find reviews of these either here or over on the W&SS forum. These reviews comprise probably 90% of the use these blades have seen. Anyway, I thought I'd offer these to the Fiddleback faithful before dropping them on the exchange.

First is a prototype Hunter, which I believe to be the first of this model. This has Wenge over Curly Maple over red liners and a tapered tang. O1 tool steel of course and a Talfuchre sheath with dangler and fire steel loop. I'm asking ($225) SOLD for this one.

Next is, IMHO, a really special Woodsman, acquired at Blade 2009. It has some beautiful Ironwood over black liners. This comes with the standard JRE sheath. This one is SOLD.

Yes, it pains me to think of selling these, but the yearning to make knives is stronger right now.

It's too bad you have to let them go, they are both beauties. I would jump on that hunter, that thing looks awesome, but I'm trying to save for a Hiking Buddy from Andy

Those are from the old days when he was still doing full height grinds. Spectacular looking blades. That woodsman you got there is gorgeous. I can't believe you can part with that thing. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do though, right.

I can't believe I'm parting with either of them to be honest. I'm still struggling to decide if this is a worthwhile sacrifice to get me one step closer to achieving a dream or the most idiotic thing I've even done. I guess only time will tell.

The Hunter is still available, but the beautiful Woodsman is gone.

Lemme see what I can do on that Hunter, its not the one I really want, but if I can come up with the cash, I'll pm you. Moose

I feel your pain! Sold a few lately that I never thought I would let go, for the same reason! Gotta get the KMG up and runnin!

I haven't sold any of my personal stash lately, but I did something even more painful. I gave Andy a knife out of the collection that I could tell he had been drooling over. I never really considered parting with it before, but I had two and he had none and he's my homeboy.

And what would that be pray tell? I'm interested to hear about a knife Andy has been drooling over. Moose

Was it a people's Knife or something the sort?

Hey! Thats a sweet auto too!!!

When I asked Andy if I could post these for sale in his forum, my intent was to ensure that these special knives went to good homes within the Fiddleback brethren. As much as it hurts to sell them, it is comforting to know that they are both headed to individuals that I can tell will appreciate and take care of them.

As a testament to the caliber of individuals that patrol Andy's forum, both purchasers have promised me first dibs if either ever decide to part with them. Now I just need to make sure that they inform their children/grandchildren about our arrangement.

Thanks again for helping me get one step further down the road to being a knifemaker.

Hey Thom. I saw that that knife had sold earlier last week. Just a heads up.
