Awesome work! Reminds me of my favorite jungle knife/sword.....the 1909 Modelo Argentino short sword. The hilt and blade shape are very similar.

Here's better pics. of the finished knife.
Now it's sharp top and bottom.

SPECS.
20. 15/16" Overall and weighs 32 oz.
Blade = 15. 7/8" X 1. 3/4" X 1/4" thick.
1095 spring steel with 1018 fittings welded in place.
The handle is 4. 3/4" with scales of lightly darkened Curly Maple.
