Field dressing with Shadow IV

I'm in the market for a fixed blade for general hunting chores (mostly white-tailed deer in NJ). I really like the blade profile of the Shadow IV. Does anyone out there have experience with this blade for the purposes of field dressing, skinning, etc? Also, will CR make this model with a single guard like the Mountaineer? Thanks.

You'd have to see call CRK to see if they'd do a Shadow w/o the top guard. I'm not a hunter, but all of my huntin' buddies like the Sable IV or the Ubejane for their purposes. Just out of curiosity, what do you like about the Shadow profile over these other knives?

The Shadow is a spear point and would not be my choice. I have a Sable III and it should work fine as would the Sable IV or the Ubejane.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. That's exactly why I asked. I don't know much about fixed blades (more into folders these days). I will seriously consider the Sable IV. By the way, as a backup, which Sebenza should go with it? I love PiterM's kydex sheath with Seb holster. Gotta get me one of them (actually all three I guess).

I've field dressed whitetail with my shadow III and it was fine. I don't think it would make a good skinning knife, it doesn't have enough belly. I don't skin them myself anymore anyway. The weather has been warm enough here in western pa, that I have to take the deer right to a meat processor immediately. But my shadow worked fine for gutting.

I used a Shadow IV for about 10 years for field dressing and skinning, average two whitetail a year, it works good but as stated above a Sable or a Ubejane would work better.
And I have seen a half dozen or so Shadow IVs with out the top guard so they do it or I should say have done it.
