Hey folks, I figure some of my fellow busse fans are probably hunters, and with deer season fast approaching I was wondering what you guys plan to use when it comes time to clean a deer?

For folks with a Team Gemini, do you think that the TG would do okay field dressing a deer?

A Team Gemini for the heavy stuff with a Scrapmax for the skinning would be a pretty good way to go. ;)

My pair this year (if i ever get them) will be my TGLB and my Hog Muk.

I also keep a hunting scalpel and my JYD II with me. The JYDII is a great backup skinner, and the scalpel excels at delicate work

I've used a CABS and BJ for whitetail....I actually preferred the BJ for dressing and the CABS for everything else.

The past 2 years I have used a Wiener Dog and and HCLE 4", for everything from after the shot to skinning, boning, and cutting steaks.

It really all comes down to preference. I prefer a 4-4.5" blade for whitetail. Meaner Street or Meaner HACK work great. CABS too. I've also used my BAD, which was just a tad short for me but also worked great.

One thing for sure... hunting season can't get here fast enough!

I always have my AD with me but I may give an Elmax blade a go this year. Hunting season can't get here fast enough for me.

Well let me see. I have used an AD, MEANER, War Dog Hack, Vex, HCLE, Satin Jack and B11. I personally like the AD and the Vex. Like Garth said "Hunting season can't get here fast enough."

Man... you aint kidding! I've been in the woods for a week straight, scouting.... I'd say anything bigger than 4.5" is pointless. My vex has been the go-to deer knife, but I'm gonna give my thin B4 a go this year. That ugly sum' bitch deserves to have blood and hair on it.

CABS This year I am going to use the Scrapmax on dove. Should remove them from the breast bone with ease.

The cabs and the cultie have been my favorites so far. I will try the b4 and couple scrapmaxs, 375 and 460, this year.:)

I'm definitely going to give the b4 and scrap max 460 a go this year. I wish it was late september already lol

I'm gonna start hog hunting again when the temp drops below 80... too dang hot to hunt now.
