Field Pup-3 information please.

I have a Field Pup-3 in a white box with black lettering on it,
the stock code number is 729857000031.
It has a friction type sheath (no snap) it just locks in when seated.
There is no country of origin or blade steel marked on it.
I can't find one like it anyplace with that type of sheath.
Any information will help.

In 2010 I bought a field pup with a sheath and box like you described but it also came with a legth of nylon cord. The newer feild pups have 7cr17mov but with that ugly sheath yours is older and may be AUS8. My knife and sheath are both solid and comfortable to use.

Thanks for the reply. Mine has a cord tied through the hole in the handle.
I am not the original owner and I was not sure if it came from the factory that way or not.

Can you post pictures of the knife [both sides] and the sheath? That would help narrow down things a little more. The first Field Pups were AUS8 IIRC, they had a Leather and Kydex hybrid pouch sheath. Good knife, missed it almost as soon as I traded it away.
