Hi Gang.
I recieved the Field pup today as part of a trade. Here it is along side a Seal pup.

I lost the knife almost the moment I opened it. My wife said, "I want that one".

The field pup has a very comfortable handle that fills the hand better. It is also a little softer and "grippier". The thumbramp has deep cut grooves for grip as well. A very nice knife. Now we need to get out and used them!

I am going to try to get a mini tsunami as well for comparison.

I am putting together hiking fannypacks for the older kids and my wife and I.
I know. It is just another excuse to buy or trade for more knives.

Thanks for the pics. BTW, it's dangerous handling these types of knives in house shoes.:)

Nice sheath on the Seal Pup! I wish mine had come with a practical sheath like that...

yes nice indeed. i picked up a seal pup pe today. the grip is very comfortable as long as I dont extend my thumb onto the spline. then the 1st finger groove is a bit too far forward. normal grip gives great feel and nice balance all the same.

The sheath is a bit ott for what I want but I will hunt around for a replacement or maybe get this one modified. I could do without the velcro though.

I wondered why people here write about buying more and more. Now I know. am plotting my next sog already. I think a folder is next.

That is an interesting one for your FP. Does it lock in tight, or is it unsecured?

The field pup fits in very tight. No straps to hold it, but don't think it would ever fall out. The seal pup sheath has a pouch under the flap, great to keep a swiss army knife in as a back up.
