Field pup question.

Just got a field pup, but found something extra. After I opened the box and looked at it, found a piece of black shoelace type of string on the floor. Don't know for sure if it came with the pup, but that's where it's at. Does SOG include before mentioned string in with the field pup?

Thats a lanyard and they do come with the Field Pup. Good knife!
