I don't post much on this forum, though I read it virtually every day. I bought a 15 inch AK back when the kamis were under so much stress with the fighting in their country, and mine wasn't properly tempered, and the edge blew out. We sent it to Art Swyhart, and he was unable to repair it.
Uncle Bill being Uncle Bill, he sent me a replacement by Bura. It was beautiful, of course, and I did a little cutting with it just to confirm that it was all right, but nothing serious.
Well, it's winter time here on the high plains, and I'm going through a lot of firewood. Ihave been using the AK to cut up small limbs for kindling and firewood. I have a chainsaw, but I like useing the AK on the small stuff for excercise if nothing else.
I have to say that I am impressed. With all the chopping I've done, some of it in sub-freezing weather, on wood frozen harder than a brick bat, the edge still shaves. It is seemingly unaffected.
I never cease to be amazed at the performance of these blades.
Thanks again, Uncle Bill.
