I'VE been sharpening all knives for about 5 years on a wet stone but. Im now trying to look into field sharpeners. I like sharpening at about a 30 angle was wondering are there any descent field sharpeners out there is can do this?

Try a Fallkniven DC4. Find YouTube videos them and then decide if it's for you.

The Fallkniven, DMT and Spyderco field size sharpeners are all good. I carry a Fallkniven DC3 or DC4 along with a small leather strop in my pocket or in my bag more than any others.

Worksharp guided filed sharpener would be my choice. It has 40 degree inclusive angle (20 degree per side) guide, that may be different slightly from your desired angle.

I've got this ^ field sharpener and like it well. Fine and coarse diamond, fine and coarse ceramic, and leather strop. It's not minimalist, so it's a little big to fit comfortably in a pocket, but goes in the pack nicely.

I think the WS field sharpener is 40* and 50* included: 20* per side on the main stones and 25* per side on the strop and rod sides. I could be wrong.

1911, are you talking about 30* total or 30* per side?

Thanks Scott for your correction. WS guided field sharpener has 20 degree per side angle guide so that would be 40 degree inclusive.

What ever edge angle you want to work with, from 14 inclusive to 40 inclusive, just set the precise alignment scale. It can be set in increments of 1 degree and in divisions of 1 degree as well. It produces shaving sharp edges that are polished and the tool fits in the palm of your hand. The ERU is a precision tool made in America and is built to last a life time. If you are looking for something other than stamped plastic in an adjustable field sharpener give us a try. They aren't cheap to buy, but you get what you pay for.

The feedback we have gotten from professional sharpeners as well as chefs is that the ERU is far more versatile than any other field sharpener they had ever used.
