  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

i have model 639 fieldmate, '86 vintage, took it flyfishing last weekend. at our campsite we needed some small kindling pieces. i fished out the fieldmate(it has a convexed edge) and proceeded to baton it through 12" tall pieces of oak and ash logs. i must have batoned through 20-25 pieces. it was still shaving sharp. the 425m is good stuff i reckon.

Of course its good stuff!!! Its a Buck!

i own 3 Buck 639's and one is put up with the collection and the others are for using, great knife the only draw back for me is i am left handed and the sheath is standard(right handed) but i purchased a quality aftermarket L/H sheath for my needs and it is a great knife with out any problems and easily resharpen to a razor sharp edge.

Have a look at the sheath goose has here. It should be nice and ambee.

Yep Will...it is ambrosia or whatever it's called for lefty and righty use.

Wish it would take a 120/4...but it I wish for whirled peas, $0.35 gallon gas, $0.50 cigs, and polygamy to come back too :D

If you are bringing back polygamy we are going to need cheeper gas than $0.35 a gallon. I am not sure polygamy and whirled peas go hand in hand either.
